Brazil Charcoal Detection Project

I am preparing a training dataset using a large archive of satellite imagery of deforested areas.

I identify telltale signatures of the camps used for human trafficking, illegal charcoal production, and deforestation. This foundational data set will be critical to model development for automatic detection.

Stanford University's Human Trafficking Data Lab is using satellite imagery to disrupt forced labor and deforestation in Brazil. The Lab develops scalable AI technologies to uncover instances of human trafficking and support interventions for people in forced labor situations.
